Choosing The Right Wheels
If you need to replace your wheels you will need to know a few things to ensure your replacement wheel will fit your trolley or cart. Please see our guide below to help you measure up and learn the terminology.
Wheel Diameter – This is the overall size of the wheel measured from one edge to the opposite side. Wheels are usually referred to using this measurement, such as a 10″ wheel or 8″ wheel.
Wheel Width – This is the size of the wheel looking at it from it’s narrowest side.
Inner Bore – This is the measurement of the hole at the centre of the wheel.
Hub Length – This is the length of the hole at the centre of the wheel. If you find it’s difficult to measure it using a tape measure or ruler you can also use a pencil or pen to gauge how much of it can go through the hole until it pokes out, then measure it.
Offset Hub – This means that the hub is longer on one side (hence being offset). This type of wheel will have a longer hub length due to this.
